Beschreibung

S,S-Dimethyl-N-(p-toluenesulfonyl)sulfoximine, is used as methylene-transfer agent. The anion adds to carbonyl compounds to give epoxides which can react with a further mole of reagent with ring expansion to give 2,2-disubstituted oxetanes. It is also used as a pharmaceutical intermediate.

Anwendungen
S,S-Dimethyl-N-(p-Toluolsulfonyl)sulfoximin, wird als Methylentransfermittel verwendet. Das Anion fügt sich an Carbonylverbindungen an und ergibt Epoxide, die mit einem weiteren Mol Reagenz mit Ringexpansion reagieren können, um 2,2-disubstituierte Oxetane zu ergeben. Es wird auch als pharmazeutisches Zwischenprodukt verwendet.
