Molybdenum(VI) oxide is a very promising and stable oxide for electrochromic applications and used as a catalyst in the oil industry. It is also used to make metal molybdenum. It has a wide band gap type semiconductor with distinctive electrochromic, thermochromic, and photochromic properties, has been widely investigated as smart materials for catalysis sensors, lubricants, lithium battery, organic solar cells, and display materials.

Molybdän(VI)-oxid ist ein sehr vielversprechendes und stabiles Oxid für elektrochromatische Anwendungen und wird als Katalysator in der Ölindustrie eingesetzt. Es wird auch zur Herstellung von Metallmolybdän verwendet. Es hat einen breiten Bandspalt-Halbleiter mit markanten elektrochromischen, thermochromen und photochromen Eigenschaften und wurde weithin als intelligentes Material für Katalysesensoren, Schmierstoffe, Lithium-Batterien, organische Solarzellen und Displaymaterialien untersucht.
Löslichkeit
Schwer in Wasser löslich. Löslich in konzentrierten Mineralsäuren und Alkalihydroxid-Lösungen.
Hinweise
Es reagiert nicht mit anderen Säuren außer Fluorwasserstoff- und konzentrierter Schwefelsäure.
