Beschreibung
Betaine is an active ingredient in toothpaste to control the symptoms of dryness of the mouth. It is used to treat homocystinuria, which is a defect in the major pathway of methionine biosynthesis. It is also used for boosting the immune system and for improving athletic performance. It is helpful to prevent noncancerous tumors in the colon (colorectal adenomas).

AnwendungenBetain ist ein Wirkstoff in Zahncreme zur Regulierung der Symptome von Mundtrockenheit. Wird zur Behandlung der Homocystinurie verwendet, einem Defekt im Hauptweg der Methionin-Biosynthese. Wird auch zur Stärkung des Immunsystems und zur Verbesserung der sportlichen Leistungsfähigkeit eingesetzt. Unterstützt die Verhinderung nicht kanzerogener Tumore im Dickdarm (kolorektale Adenome).

Löslich in Wasser und Methanol.
Hinweise
Hygroskopisch. Kühl lagern. Nicht kompatibel mit starken Oxidationsmitteln.
